and the leaves will scrape your skin
and the sky will rain down emptiness
on your ocean deep within
the shadows whisper secrets
and the sun will scream the truth
and when no one else is looking
the earth will steal your youth
the walls will form around you
with their white wisdom plastered pale
and you’ll swear you saw it coming
while your senses slowly fail
the room you’ve built inside yourself
will come quickly caving in
and you’re surely bound to wonder
what’s the price of all your sin
we’re all the same under these masks
of darkness and deceit
but i’ll never trade my fidelity
for the company you keep
